She's also added a second headline show in Melbourne to cope with demand
It's all happening at once for ascendant, diminutive Aussie rapper Tkay Maidza, with the M.O.B. hitmaker today being announced as the freshly minted support act aboard UK songstress Rita Ora's imminent tour of the United States.
As if that wasn't enough of a credibility booster for the local rhymesmith, Maidza has also just added a second Melbourne show to her own headline tour Down Under, following the exhaustion of tickets for her first scheduled appearance at the Corner Hotel on Saturday, 3 October.
The second Melbourne date — also at the Corner, on Sunday, 4 October — is the last in Maidza's recent line of new additions to her 16-date-strong tour run, which now gets under way with a show at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on Thursday, 10 September, and has also seen additional performances pencilled in for Adelaide (Uni Bar, all ages, 17 September) and Hobart (Republic Bar, 1 October).
Before all that, though, she'll be capitalising on her current sojourn in the US — where she's recording her debut album — to step out three times this week with Ora (in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Ana, all in California), adding yet another high-profile name to her history of supporting superstars, which already boasts opening slots for the likes of Chari XCX, Mark Ronson and Years & Years.
