Australian-bound US comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have been known to work with Hollywood greats on a lot of their work, collaborating extensively with actor John C. Reilly on series Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule.

In an interview with theMusic.com.au to discuss their pending tour and new book, Tim & Eric revealed they were writing a fourth season of the cult hit, of which Reilly also co-writes, producer and plays the lead.

“We’re writing season four of that show,” Wareheim revealed.

“We’re shooting it in the fall, and they usually come out in Feb, Mar area time,” Heidecker added.

“We love it; it’s a really fun show for us to write and make. The more you make it, the more the universe of the show grows; it’s very satisfying.”

The character of Dr. Steve Brule was introduced during Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and quickly became a fan favourite, and Reilly embodies the ‘doctor’ perfectly and is almost unrecognisable.

The pair has also worked closely with legends Will Ferrel, Paul Rudd and more over the years, and it’s the easy-going nature in which they work that Heidecker attributes the interest.

“I think there’s a sense of freedom and creativity with what we do that is not hard — it comes naturally for these people,” he said.

“If you compare that to a big movie set or a big TV show, a lot of the times those can be very stifling and boring environments to be in, because things are methodical and they take a while and when we work, it’s very fast and fun.”

The duo’s debut book, Tim & Eric’s Zone Theory: 7 Easy Steps To Achieve A Perfect Life, is out now and you catch them in action this December when they tour the country.
