"Mofo asks you to surrender to music, sound, sight and space."
It's time once again for Tasmania's Museum Of Old And New Art's Festival Of Music And Art (MONA FOMA, MOFO for short) to announce their seventh annual festival dates for 2016.
Taking place over January 13 — 18, like last year it will be curated by Brian Ritchie of Violent Femmes and The Break fame, with events scattered around a slew of venues around the MONA. You can catch performances at the Nolan Gallery, the Organ Room, the Moorilla Barrel Room and the sandstone Void, which is 14 metres underground.
You can expect unique showcases of percussion, spoken word, music and art — and a fusion of both — with access to all with one ticket.
Ritchie says, "Mofo asks you to surrender to music, sound, sight and space. Mona plus music creates one big pulsing organism. Whether you are a regular visitor or first-timer, Mofo 2016 will show off Mona in unimaginable ways."
