But quickly deletes the evidence.

The new film of the rebooted Fantastic Four franchise hit Aussie cinemas just yesterday and unfortunately for us movie geeks the flick has already been slammed by most critics and, apparently, the director agrees.

Surprisingly the man behind the camera for the new installment of the popular comic book franchise, Josh Trank, tweeted his own frustrations earlier today, seemingly angered by the negative reviews.

"A year ago I had a fantastic version of this," Trank wrote.

"And it would've received great reviews. You'll probably never see it. That's reality though."

Soon after the filmmaker who is also known for his directorial work in the 2012 sci-fi Chronicle, deleted the tweet, but unfortunately for Trank, the screen-shot button is a thing.

Many thought that the new film which boasts an impressive cast including Miles Teller and Kate Mara among others, would easily surpass the noughties versions of the franchise (like it would be that hard) but the feedback has been less than kind and Trank's comments only confirm the worst for fans.

It is however expected to open with strong numbers at the box office upon its release in the US today.

Meanwhile, a sequel for the revived superhero franchise has already been locked in for 2017, so it will be interesting to see if Trank will be attached — that is, if he wants to be.
