Australian nu-house duo Peking Duk will perform at the Optus RockCorps 2015 spectacular at Luna Park in the Big Top alongside Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa this September.

The Canberra act - made up of Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles - will hit the stage at the charity-based initiative, which goes down Wednesday 30 September.

Tickets can't be purchased or even won – punters earn them, and you can find all info on how to get involved, and register, via the event’s official website.

This year, Peking Duk premiered at Coachella in California, and triumphantly returned to Splendour In The Grass.

But they’re are looking forward to playing the charity-based event, which, back for its third year, rewards young volunteers in local communities.

"As DJs we've definitely volunteered a lot – I think any DJ has in their time," Hyde told theMusic.com.au from Chicago, where Peking Duk are billed at Lollapalooza.

"I used to work as a tea and bickie boy at an old persons' home. I didn't get paid for a bit, and then I started getting paid, but I did take a massive interest in it all. I respect anyone who's doing work not for any self-benefit – you know, they're doing it for other people. I really respect that a lot. I think for this show we need to bring the heat so those volunteers can really have a good time – 'cause they deserve it, definitely. Anyone who's doing work for nothing – that's, like, proper respect."

The Canberra mavericks are themselves fans of Wiz Khalifa – especially of his laugh.

"He's got this laugh which is very infectious," Hyde explained. "He's a very funny dude… Wiz seems like the kinda guy who we'd get along with very well. But, even being put on a bill with him, I'm stoked. I love his music."

In July, Peking Duk dropped the anthemic single Say My Name, led by mysterious ACT singer Benjamin Joseph. With a stompin' retro rock beat, Hyde acknowledges it's very "different" to 2014's mega-hits High (featuring Nicole Millar) and Take Me Over (SAFIA's Ben Woolner), the former of which won an ARIA for Best Dance Release.

"The music that we're making for the [upcoming] album is so different to everything that we've made before," he notes of Say My Name.

"It's like a segue-way to the sort of shit that we're making – not to say that we're making that exact same style for the album at all… But, overall, the reception's been real good. We felt like it was the right song to put out next."

Peking Duk's hotly anticipated-debut album on new label Sony Music is coming – but, again, Hyde prefers to tease rather than state when. They want it to sound "right".

"We've got time. I read a great quote from, I think it was the lead singer of Creed [Scott Stapp]. The lead singer of Creed said, 'You've got all your life to write your debut album and then after that you've got a clock ticking.' That's what we're doing. We're taking our time… But, in saying that, we're not gonna take too long. So who knows what could happen?"
