Fake Mark Ronson Perth Gig Under Investigation

The Perth venue that sold tickets to a Mark Ronson gig last month, which the UK producer himself said was "falsely advertised" is currently under investigation by the Major Fraud Squad. 

As Community News reports, the Matisse Beach Club is working with the Major Fraud Squad amid claims that club management had signed a contract with a third party agent for Ronson's performance. 

"Matisse is in possession of a signed contract booking agreement for this performance with a third party agent and has engaged the assistance of the Major Fraud Squad of the West Australian Police for this matter and therefore cannot comment while this is under investigation," the spokeswoman said.

Matisse were forced to refund all tickets to the Winter Funk Fest on 25 July upon learning that Ronson would not be in attendance just minutes before the event was to begin, even though the 39-year-old musician was in Byron Bay fulfilling his Splendour In The Grass commitments. 

Ronson slammed the promoter's on his Twitter account on the night of the event, calling the advertisement "COMPLETE BS" — see all of his tweets here. 

Fans were left seething as ticket holders were emailed just hours before the event was to kick off, advising that Ronson would not attend the venue due to "logistical reasons".

The Matisse spokeswoman confirmed that all tickets to the Winter Funk Fest were automatically fully refunded.
