[UPDATE] Did 1000 Musos Just Convince Foo Fighters To Go To Italy?

Here's a lesson for the locales less visited by big-time rock acts: rather than hurtling abuse at bands and artists who inadvertently leave you out of their touring plans, pull together a massive, 1000-member-strong ensemble of your own and bust out one of their hit songs in a plea to get them to notice you.

That's what a bunch of folks have done in the north Italian city of Cesena, at any rate, where local man Fabio Zaffagnini led the campaign — dubbed Rockin' 1000 — to bring together a militia of one thousand musos to perform Foo Fighters' 2000 classic Learn To Fly in an effort to get the band to agree to come and perform there.

So far, the band hasn't committed or anything — although they have at least acknowledged the video, saying "Che bello, Cesena" ("That's nice, Cesena"… it probably loses something in the translation) on Facebook — but, given their general history of generous fan service and the fact that Dave Grohl is apparently Just The Best Guy, we wouldn't call this one totally out of the realm of possibility.

And, even if it doesn't end up working, at least Zaffagnini can take solace in the fact that he managed to wrangle 1000 "creatives" to simultaneously focus on a singular task, and for selfless purposes — which might be the most impressive part of the whole thing.

They're intention was to get the attention of the Foo Fighters and it seems 1000 musicians have done just that.

After the band responded to the Learn To Fly video earlier today, it seems they've gone one better as frontman Dave Grohl hinted in a new Facebook post that they would be making the trip to Cesena. 

Again sending a message in Italian, the post read "Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena.... xxx Davide," which translates to "See you soon, Cesena….David xxx."

Take a bow, Cesena residents. This calls for a celebration. Group jam, anyone?
