The prestigious $25,000 award returns for a ninth year of recognising Queensland's finest
The annual Grant McLennan Fellowship, a $25,000 prize that has been bestowed upon talented, hard-working Queensland musicians every year since 2007 in a joint initiative by Arts Queensland and APRA AMCOS, has opened for 2015 applications.
The prestigious Fellowship offers its recipient the chance to travel to New York, London or Berlin for up to six months in order to further their professional and creative development in the "foreign and vibrant musical culture" of their choosing.
"APRA AMCOS is pleased to continue our support for the 2015 Grant McLennan Fellowship," APRA AMCOS head of member services Dean Ormston said in a statement.
"As a songwriter, being able to immerse yourself in another country and culture is an invaluable experience. The Grant McLennan Fellowship provides Queensland songwriters with this fantastic opportunity."

The annual award was set up in honour of late Queensland-bred singer-songwriter and Go-Betweens co-frontman Grant McLennan, and has, in its lifetime, been bestowed upon varied local artists such as Greg Charles (2007), John Busby and Chris Dale (2008), Helen Franzmann (2009), Danny Widdicombe and Andrew Morris (2010), Scott Spark (2011), Louise O'Reilly and Paul Hannan (2012), Seja Vogel (2013) and, most recently, Thomas Calder, of The Trouble With Templeton (2014).
"[London's] an incredibly inspiring and enlivening city, and the perfect place to base myself," Calder said of his time spent abroad as the grant's recipient.
"The people, places, and experiences I've had are ones I'll never forget, and have all affected the music I'm writing in a hugely positive way."
Applications will remain open until 31 August, with winners announced in November. To apply, you must:
