More AC/DC More AC/DC

Ex AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested over the weekend, less than two weeks after he was sentenced to eight months home detention for drug charges and threatening to kill

According to NZ Herald, Rudd was arrested by police in his Tauranga home in New Zealand on Saturday night by police, though the nature of the arrest is still unclear. It is also understood that prostitutes were present at the time of the arrest.

Neighbours have said that they did not notice anything peculiar occur on Saturday night, though the poor weather would have masked any noise that may have been coming from Rudd's house.

While Rudd will appear in Tauranga District Court today, both his attorney, Craig Tuck and Bay Of Plenty police have refused to comment on the matter.

The last time the 61-year-old appeared in court, he was warned by Judge Thomas Ingram that if he would be sent to prison if he breached his current sentence which has confined Rudd to his home, with 24-hour monitoring.

Meanwhile, AC/DC are continuing touring through Europe at the moment with their Rock Or Bust world tour with former drummer Chris Slade taking over from Rudd.

UPDATE:

Phil Rudd has been told today at Tauranga District Court that he will have to undergo random drug and alcohol testing after it was revealed that he breached his home detention sentence by consuming alcohol over the weekend.

As Stuff reports, Rudd entered no plea to the new charges as his attorney Craig Tuck requested that the case be remanded until 3 August.

A community probation officer requested that an extra condition be added to Rudd's sentence in which he must undergo random drug and alcohol testing when required, which Tuck accepted on his behalf.
