Justice has finally been served.

After a long court battle, accused conman Mark Filby has been ordered in court to pay the late Bernard Patrick 'Doc' Neeson's estate of over $100,000.

As A Current Affair reported, the former frontman of The Angels' son, Kieran, was visibly emotional upon leaving the Downing Centre Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

"It’s not going to bring him back, but it helps," Neeson said.

A year on after the Aussie legend passed away from brain cancer, Filby was found to have swindled Neeson's life savings.

The promoter had signed a statutory declaration, which he knew at the time that he owed $70,000 and in court he admitted he lied when signing that declaration.

Filby has been ordered to pay back the full $70,000, including six years of court costs which equate to over $100,000.

The judge presiding over the trial described Filby as 'evasie' 'unreliable' and 'unbelievable' and that he would 'do whatever it takes to further his own interests including lying'.

The verdict fulfils Neeson's son's deathbed promise to his father that he would recoup the family's lost money.

"I made a promise to my father, which is one of the last things that I said to him, that I wouldn’t let this go – that I wouldn’t let Filby just continue ripping people off," Neeson said.
