Melbourne gets a mini FoDI this year too at the Melbourne Writers Festival
The premier event bringing contentious, debatable and forward-thinking ideas and conversations to the fore, The Festival Of Dangerous Ideas (FoDI) has once again announced its line-up of international and local thinkers and culture creators, taking on important issues like climate change, capitalism and euthanasia.
The annual Sydney festival has seen huge names like feminist Germaine Greer, WikiLeaks' Julian Assange, writer Jonathan Safran Foer and more over the years, with this year's speaker line-up led by Canadian climate chance activist Naomi Klein, British-Pakistani political commentator Tariq Ali, one of the most requested FoDI speakers Jon Ronson, and developmental neuroscientist Marc Lewis.
The Festival will feature 22 solo sessions and 10 panels, taking on ideas that are often taboo or difficult to discuss, running at the Sydney Opera House from 5-6 September.
Melbourne Writers Festival will host a mini FoDI this year, too, with Tariq Ali, Naomi Klein, Marc Lewis, Jon Ronson and Eric Schlosser stopping by from 28-30 August to offer mini sessions, along with local artist Numskull.
