The 2015 Archibald Prize finalists have today been announced and a number of notable works featuring high profile Australian talent have been included in the short list, including musician Daniel Johns.
The former Silverchair frontman is featured shirtless in an incredible portrait from artist, Julian Meagher, simply titled after the singer.
Meanwhile Jason Benjamin has also been included in the finalist's list for his work on national icon, Paul Kelly. The close-up portrait of the veteran performer is titled, I sat by the river. I waited by the road.
A portrait of Perth singer Abbe May has also been created by Angus McDonald, which shows the singer wearing an unbuttoned blouse. The stunning work is named Romanticide — portrait of Abbe May.

Meanwhile beloved Aussie actor Michael Caton has also been brought to life on the canvas by Bruno Jean Grasswill. The portrait today was announced as the winner of the Packing Room Prize at the Art Gallery Of NSW — Grasswill was awarded $1500.
Actor and part-time singer Noah Taylor has been portrayed in a very unique artwork, as he features in 13 framed pictures in the one work — the piece, created by Paul Ryan has been named Thirteen Noahs.
