BIGSOUND 2015 Adds Global Music Leaders To Key Speakers List

It keeps getting better.

Renowned music event BIGSOUND seemed to have pulled out all the stops with May's announcement that Aussie icon Peter Garrett would attend as a keynote speaker but it just keeps getting better with the news that two global music leaders have also been added to the bill. 

One of the leading female voices in the music industry and senior editor of global music bible PitchforkJessica Hopper will make her way to Brisbane in September all the way from her Chicago-based office. 

As one of the most influential music journalists in the world, Hopper has also written two books, with The First Collection Of Criticism By A Living Female Rock Critic recently being named as one of the best books in 2015 so far by Amazon. 

Joining her on the trip Down Under will be partner and Head Of Music at US talent agency WME EntertainmentMarc Geiger.

Having been named of the 20 most influential people by Billboard, Geiger is responsible for the live booking for some of today's biggest music acts, including Lady GagaJack WhiteNeil DiamondRihanna and many more. 

He is also the co-creator of hugely popular music festival, Lollapalooza.

The two iconic industry figures have been announced to attend BIGSOUND 2015 alongside Rob Zifarelli from Canada's The Agency GroupSarah Casey from the Leighton Pope Organisation and Joe Schiavon from Global Live, both based in the UK.

A number of Aussie music identities have also been added to the bill which include I OH YOU's Johann Ponniah, radio plugger Darryl Bailey and Deathproof PR's Emily Kelly and Rebecca Reato.

"BIGSOUND 2015 is shaping up to be incredibly diverse," said QMusic Executive Officer Joel Edmondson of the new additions.

"The calibre of global industry leaders who can help the careers of the artists showcasing has never been more exciting."
