The annual event returns to Victoria this November

Victoria's yearly Queenscliff Music Festival has unveiled its first batch of acts destined to grace its stages for its 19th event, with brother-sister folk duo Angus & Julia Stone, Aussie legends Hoodoo Gurus, venerated singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke and more leading the charge for this November's do.

The Stone siblings come to Queenscliff fresh from a tour of Europe, while the Hoodoo Gurus are enjoying their finest form in years of late, more than 30 years into their career. Meanwhile, Miller-Heidke makes a return appearance at the festival in the wake of her new show, The Rabbits, for Opera Australia.

Joining those acclaimed acts will be a complement of equally respected artists, including Something For Kate frontman Paul Dempsey, acclaimed Aussie veteran John Williamson, the eclectic ensemble of Nicky Bomba's Melbourne Ska Orchestra, the refined pop styling of Go-Betweens co-founder Robert Forster, plus a slew of up-and-coming local acts such as HartsKingfishaOkaAinslie Wills and Hey Frankie.

"We're really concentrating on getting the balance right for our punters," festival director Andrew Orvis — who this year orchestrates his second QMF event — said in a statement.

"It's all about quality music, great shows, comfy surrounds, yummy food and drinks, in beautiful, historic Queenscliff, and all right on the shores of Port Phillip Bay."

This year's Queenscliff Music Festival will be held from 27-29 November in Queenscliff, on the Bellarine Pensinsula, Victoria. Early-bird tickets for this year's event are on sale now; although the second line-up announcement doesn't drop until this time next month, we wouldn't recommend waiting.
