Inspired by Jon Hamm feeding Belle & Sebastian gummy bears at Bonnaroo this year

Bonnaroo is just rubbing it in now. Are you happy, Bonnaroo?

American summer music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Coachella and SXSW are known for their high-profile celebrity attendees and guest-filled on stage collaborations, and of course, this year's Tennessee festival was no different.

With Mad Men's leading man, Jon Hamm, comedians Zack Galifianakis and Ed Helms, Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper all unexpectedly taking the stage at this year's Bonnaroo, we thought we'd take a look at all the guests and their merrymaking on festival stages that we missed out on in recent years.

my morning jacket, the war on drugs, hozier and ed helms play with mumford & sons — bonnaroo 2015

The British folk rock quartet, already acquainted with Ed Helms by way of their Hopeless Wanderer video clip, brought on a slew of guests for their huge rendition of The Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends this weekend. Introducing My Morning Jacket as "a bunch of dickheads", the gang also brought along The War On Drugs, Hozier and Danny Clinch

superjam with chance the rapper, zach galifianakis, jon hamm, DMC and more — bonnaroo 2015

The whole idea of the annual SuperJam is to have as many artists collaborating on a cover medley at once, so this isn't as much a surprise as it is just awesome to have witnessed. Chance the Rapper got on stage to cover a number of hip hop classics such as Notorious B.I.G.'s Juicy, Fresh Prince's Summertime and Montell Jordan's This Is How We Do It, while comedian/actors Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis took the crowd through Michael Jackson's We Are The World. Following the MJ-trend, SZA jumped in with The Way You Make Me Feel with fun./Bleachers' Jack Antonoff. The star-studded list continues with DMC, Metallica's Rob Trujillo, actor Corey Feldman and Reggie Watts.

earth wind & fire bring out chance the rapper and kendrick lamar — bonnaroo 2015

R&B legends Earth, Wind & Fire didn't want to miss out on the fun with on-stage guests so they brought out hip hop contemporaries Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper, who were apparently watching side of stage, to freestyle with the group. The two MCs look like they're having a blast and rip out some killer freestyles, with a groovy bass line to support them. You can catch the two rapping from 1:18:00 onwards.

jon hamm threw gummy bears into belle and sebastian's mouth — bonnaroo 2015

The serious-on-screen, really-not-serious-off-screen actor seems to have graced nearly every stage this Bonnaroo. Apparently Jon Hamm was (lovingly?) feeding Zach Galifianakis gummy bears side of stage during Belle & Sebastian, which lead singer Stuart Murdoch caught sight of. Murdoch felt a bit jealous at this point, saying "why can't I be fed gummy bears by a famous person?" That's the question, isn't it, Stuart? Well, Hamm came to deliver with a few straight gummy bear punts straight into Murdoch's waiting mouth, and the crowd's. You can watch the throws from 15:27 onwards.

that time tupac rose from the dead in the form of a hologram during dr dre's set — coachella 2012

In a feat of voodoo (what else could it be?), an incredibly realistic Tupac performed Hail Mary and Gangsta Party with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg at Coachella in 2012, disappearing into thin air with a burst of light a mere four minutes later. Apparently created for somewhere between $100,000 and $400,000 by the Hollywood special effects studio Digital Domain, the rise of Tupac definitely took the cake for being the most expensive on-stage appearance at Coachella, probably ever.

miley cyrus on stage with Mike Will Made It — SXSW 2015

The popstar upped the party factor on Mike Will Made It's SXSW set at the Fader Fort tenfold when she came out to finish off 23, and sing her own We Can't Stop. It was a full house on stage as she hung out while Rae Sremmurd singing Throw Sum Mo (during which Cyrus sang Nicki Minaj's parts), ending the set shooting super soakers and confetti canons into the revelling crowd.

kanye west dancing with stromae during 'alors on danse' — coachella 2015

The Belgian singer/songwriter Stromae had Kanye West onstage dancing with him, though he didn't stay very long despite the crowd's hysterial screams. Maybe the rainbow strobes were too much for West, who continued to dance side of stage as Stromae rocked his way through his electro set.

skrillex-curated superjam sees lauryn hill, A$ap ferg, mystikal and janelle monae — bonnaroo 2014

Last year's SuperJam, curated by dubstep king Skrillex, saw a killer line-up of guests from Zedd, Big Gigantic, Thundercat, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Janelle Monae, Cage The Elephant and finally as a closer, Lauryn Hill, all taking to the stage to cover hits by Michael Jackson, James Brown, Bob Marley and more. That beach ball-flailing footage of the crowd is pretty FOMO-inducing in itself.

madonna violates drake's mouth —  coachella 2015

We didn't want to miss this one, because seeing it happen would've been watching history in the making, and we definitely missed out by being on this side of the world. In footage broadcasted to the deepest, darkest corners of the world, Madonna plants a wet one on Drake during his set and Drake reacts in the worst (or best?) way imaginable — by curling into a ball, hand clasped over his violated mouth.
