The Sydney upstarts will herald new cut 'Bad Apple' with a show at home next month

More Palms More Palms

Sydney buzz act Palms have yet another accolade to add to their swiftly growing achievement book, becoming the newest signees to renowned local label Ivy League Records ahead of the release of their new single and accompanying video, Bad Apple.

The track is the first taste from the band's impending second album, and arrives as the ink dries on a deal that sees Palms join an existing roster of esteemed Aussie acts such as Steve Smyth, The Rubens, Alpine, Bad//Dreems, Josh Pyke, Deep Sea Arcade and many others, its near-three-minute runtime all the explanation you need as to why Palms are going to fit in an absolute treat at Ivy League.

The clip itself is inspired by a '90s skate video titled Video Days, and comes courtesy of the directorial guidance of muso and videographer SPOD. Lyrically, it's all stream-of-consciousness, rapid-fire irreverence, "just rambling through the daily thoughts in my head", songwriter Al Grigg says, while the song's hallmark Palms sound carries enough new elements to mark a notable step forward for the upwardly mobile act.
