It don't matter if you're (Castle) Black or White (Walker)

caution: spoilers follow

The most recent episode of Game Of Thrones' fifth season managed to turn around the HBO fantasy epic's fortunes somewhat after a growing tide of negative sentiment surrounding some of its more questionable narrative decisions of late, the fresh excitement striding in atop the returning icy shoulders of the Night's King.

In case you missed it, the Night's King has, in the space of the past week or so, become the internet's favourite new plaything a year after HBO accidentally spoiled his identity, earning an army of fans for what is arguably one of the most badass "come at me, bro" gestures (actually a terrifying mass reincarnation of fallen Wildling fighters, some played by Mastodon, following their disastrous stand against the undead at the episode's titular locale of Hardhome) that we've seen on television in a long while. The physical movement itself has since given rise to a meme of its own and cute nicknames like "Coldemort".

It should come as little surprise that the closing scene of Hardhome has been so eagerly embraced by the internet, and to be quite frank we're stoked that it did because, if it hadn't, maybe YouTube user simonb02 never would have realised how well it and Michael Jackson's Thriller work together.

In a word: perfectly. In a few more words, it's truly a shame that the White Walkers don't actually dance, but the lyrical themes and timing of the music with the scene is pretty great all around.

That "blood/neighbourhood" rhyme is still sketchy as hell, though.
