The Sydney rockers are branching out beyond the capitals

More Gang Of Youths More Gang Of Youths

Respected, hard-working Sydney rockers Gang Of Youths have announced that they're hitting the road yet again — for at least the third time since December — in August and September on an epic 24-date run of shows all around the country, including oft-missed regional centres.

Gang Of Youths will commence their tour in Canberra, where they'll perform at the Transit Bar on Wednesday, 5 August, with tour supports I Know Leopard, the pair of acts also taking in Wollongong's UOW Unibar on 7 August before Brisbane artist Zefereli joins the party at The Metro, in Sydney, on 8 August. All three acts roll together through Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba before a brief interlude for Gang Of Youths to stop in at Maroochydore's Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival on Saturday, 22 August.

Resuming the main route, the bands track through Melbourne, Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong before I Know Leopard depart for a couple of shows — just Gang Of Youths and Zefereli will perform in Warrnambool and Mildura — and rejoin at Adelaide's Unibar show on Friday, 4 September. Crossing coasts, the supports totally switch out, with GRRL PAL and Fait stepping up to the plate for Gang Of Youths' west-coast shows in Bunbury, Perth and Fremantle, before I Know Leopard once more join the travelling roadshow for the tour's final leg in Tasmania, for which they and Gang Of Youths hit up shows in Devonport, Launceston and, finally, Hobart, where the tour wraps up at the Republic Bar on Saturday, 19 September.

With the first five months of the year already yielding an acclaimed debut full-length, a sold-out national tour, a top-five debut on the ARIA charts, triple j feature-artist status, piles of positive reviews and a simply sensational Like A Version performance, you'd be well placed to get on board the Gang Of Youths train before you're a certified latecomer to the party.
