More Drapht More Drapht

Acclaimed Aussie hip hop artist Drapht is storming his way back into the popular consciousness with brand new single Dancin' John Doe, with the fresh cut now available for digital download ahead of the rapper's forthcoming national headline tour in support.

Drapht's new single, which you can grab via iTunes, picked up rapid rotation on national youth broadcaster triple j ahead of its release, and gives him his first reason to head out on a national headline run of shows since 2013, so it's already got that working in its favour. It's taken from Drapht's forthcoming fifth full-length 7 Mirrors, the follow-up to 2011's acclaimed The Life Of Riley, which picked up seven ARIA nominations and the prize for Best Urban Album — so expectations are understandably running high, and Dancin' John Doe does much to justify them.

There's a bit of time for the new goods to sow their seeds in your mind before you can hear them in the flesh, too, with Drapht's forthcoming Dancin' John Doe tour getting under way at The Triffid, in Brisbane, on Thursday, 6 August. From there, he'll take the show south to Sydney (Metro Theatre, 7 August) and Melbourne (Corner Hotel, 8 August) before jetting across to hit Metropolis, in Fremantle, on 14 August, and back to close out the sojourn at The Gov, in Adelaide, on Saturday, 15 August.

Tickets for all shows are available now. See theGuide or check The Music App for a full rundown of dates, venues and booking information.
