Up-and-coming Tasmanian singer Asta has landed the deal of her career with the announcement today that she has signed with major label, Warner Music.

The 21-year-old artist told 936 ABC Hobart that the contract is initially short-term, though it would cover recording, distribution and touring.

"There were a few labels who wanted to sign me, and they basically put their offer forward and it was the best out of everyone and they were 'yeah let's do this, they just seemed really passionate'," she said.

The former triple j Unearthed winner received the news during her current national tour and admitted the deal is somewhat of a relief for her, as the costs were beginning to take their toll.

"It costs a lot, like a deposit on a house really," Asta said.

"[I'm] still very poor in middle of a tour [but] it's going so well, it's amazing."

Asta plans to tour overseas in the near future, but Aussie fans can check her out at her upcoming shows around the country as the support act for rapper Allday — check theGuide for more info.
