Mysterious Mobile Underground Party Number56 Coming To Sydney

Sydney is set to experience "an authentic taste of Berlin nightlife" with the impending launch of Number56, a shifting underground night-party of no fixed address that promises to showcase the very best of music, art and culture inspired by the German capital's zeitgeist.

The first such evening, being held on Thursday, 28 May, is being heralded as the first "chapter" in the enticing, mysterious events curated by Deutsche four-piece collective Salon-Zur Wilden Renate, which is, by all accounts, responsible for some of Berlin's crazier countercultural shindigs from their favoured stomping grounds in trendy Berlin district Friedrichschain.

Leading the charge of live performers for the first chapter of Number56 is German electro veteran Steve Bug, though the event's calendar includes an enticing spread of electronic luminaries to choose from, including local artists such as Deepchild and Murat Kilic — both of whom will perform at chapter one — as well as Baron Castle, Christian Vance, Claire Morgan and more yet to be announced.

"We can't wait to share the essence of Berlin nightlife with the people of Australia," Tom Ettelt, Salon-Zur Wilden Renate's 'Head Of Craziness', said in a statement. "We have some pretty far-fetched ideas for this melting pot of music, creativity, art and self-expression so hopefully they won't get lost in translation.

"Either way, you can't go wrong with an impressive sound system, great DJs and a night that promises plenty of adventures and surprises. It's the people that liven the party so we're just asking them to bring their A-game and, secondly, make sure they find the venue."

To that end, punters will be wanting to register for tickets at the event's website, then follow Number56 on Instagram (at Number.56), where clues will gradually be revealed regarding the night's location. Final details will be supplied via email.
