The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) have taken one giant leap in to the future with today's announcement that they are launching a new weekly Audio & Visual Streaming Chart.
The new chart, set to launch this Monday on May 18 will see ARIA incorporate all official music videos on YouTube, including Vevo and user generated clips, in addition to audio streams from music streaming services such as Rdio, Google Play and Spotify.
Dan Rosen, CEO of ARIA said: "“We aim to continuously evolve the ARIA Charts to ensure that they accurately represent the new ways that Australian music fans are consuming their favourite music.”

As of now, ARIA accreditations will still remain sales based and there are no plans to absorb YouTube streams into existing ARIA Charts.
The first official Audio & Visual Streaming Chart will be released this Saturday, May 16 at 6pm on the ARIA charts website.
