The agent you love to hate

His fast talking, brash, crude and straight up outrageous on screen character Ari Gold graced our television screens on hit TV show Entourage for seven years.

And in the lead up to the feature film of the series due out next month, Jeremy Piven is conducting all press junkets and interviews in character of the high profile talent agent.

Taking to his Twitter page prior to a memorable on screen interview on the US Today Show, Piven notified his followers: "Ari will show up not Jeremy Piven, I will stay in character until press is over.I would like to apologize in advance."

As well as promoting the movie, Piven is also hyping up the release of Gold's real life book, The Gold Standard: Rules to Rule By and host Matt Lauer was in for a treat when he interviewed Piven on the live show who told Lauer that he was "lucky" to have Gold on the show.

Piven, who won three consecutive Emmy's for playing Gold, looked to improvise his way seamlessly through the chat.

Viewers would be ecstatic to finally see Gold again since the show's final episode in 2011 — the only thing missing was a bit of completely inappropriate banter between himself and former personal assistant, Lloyd.

Sharing some of his infinite film business wisdom to those watching he spoke about offering advice to his "client" Charlie Sheen in years past.

"You're crazier than a shit house rat" Piven said about Sheen on air to in studio gasps and an awkward faced Lauer.

He didn't stop there however, even making a tongue in cheek reference to his real life self.

"Basically Piven...is kidding himself."

"If I was his agent...I would tell J.P, J Piv, to do something like, work with Robert Downey and make some real money, you know what I'm saying?"

"Piven is doing a festival of bad decisions, let's just say that right now" he cheekily added.

The Entourage film is due for release on June 3.
