AC/DC's world tour in support of newest studio full-length Rock Or Bust is destined for Australia in a few months' time, but the wheels are apparently already in motion on organising local support acts Down Under.

A report by The Grill Team on Sydney's Triple M radio station today claims the band are eyeing off three major, but dormant, Aussie bands for the role — PowderfingerSilverchair and Jet — and that the veteran rockers are offering up "mountains of cash" for them to reunite for the show.

"The rumours are rife in the music industry that they're plan is to offer a large sum of money to get an Aussie band back together to be their support act," The Grill Team's anonymous source said.

"Apparently they've approached Powderfinger, Silverchair and Jet with a mountain to do this, and they actually believe they're a real chance of pulling it off."

You can hear the rumour mill turning below.

None of the proffered bands have played a live show since 2010, while - if you're looking for clues steeped in history - Acca Dacca's previous touring partners (also in 2010, funnily enough) were Calling All Cars and Wolfmother.

AC/DC's Australian leg of the Rock Or Bust tour kicks off in Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday, 4 November. See theGuide or check The Music App for more information.
