Watch Pete Wentz Accept Sia's APRA Awards & Other Highlights

"I am the fucking Michael Jordan of the APRAs."

Last night's APRA Awards — at which Sia made history with an unprecedented third consecutive Songwriter Of The Year win — were given an extra shot of star power when Fall Out Boy bassist and songwriter Pete Wentz appeared via video to deliver the Chandelier scribe's acceptance speeches.

Like Carrot Top before him, Wentz appeared in a blonde bob 'Sia' wig in the videos, opening his acceptance clip for Song Of The Year — for which Sia also walked away the winner — with a martial arts display that's just a little too evocative of Mac from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, before turning on some brilliant faux modesty, reflecting in the clip, "I never knew that I would write such an epic song about chandeliers".

"I actually think that the song's not about chandeliers — it has a deeper message than that — but, when I listen to it, I just can't imagine that my voice can go higher… and then it does, in the chorus," Wentz says matter-of-factly.

He drops that facade in favour of a little ego instead in the acceptance for Sia's history-making Songwriter Of The Year win, in which he describes himself (well, Sia) as "the fucking Michael Jordan of the APRAs".

"Thank you. Three-peat. He...won three championships," Wentz explains.

Wentz's wasn't the only A-list appearance last night, however, with several mainstays of Aussie music, including the legendary Jimmy Barnes coming out for a thrash on-stage.

Barnesy teamed up with fellow local veteran Diesel to deliver their Oz-rock-informed take on the award-winning Chandelier, while Lisa Mitchell covered fellow award-winners Sheppard with an almost unrecognisable rendition of Geronimo, accompanied by US-bred saxophonist Jake Clemons, while former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns busted out some of his new goods, highlighting recent single Preach with his performance.

You can see 30-second clips of those performances right here too:
