Melbourne International Jazz Festival Unveils Massive 2015 Program

Legends of jazz are set to align once again for the 2015 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, with previously announced genre legends Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock leading a massive 2015 program.

The festival once again rounds up innovators and icons for a range of club gigs, art parties, film screenings, workshops and more, all set to kick off Thursday 28 May, and running until Sunday 7 June.

The opening night will see jazz legends Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock join forces, with 15-piece New Orleans Jazz Orchestra lead by Dee Dee Bridgewater and Irvin Mayfield playing the closing party.

In between those dates, you’ll be able to catch piano virtuoso Stefano Bollani collaborating with Brazilian master Hamilton de Holanda, and Joe Lovano, Paul Grabowsky, Phil Rex and Dave Beck uniting for a series of intimate club dates.

Jazz vocalist Kurt Elling and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra team up, while saxophonist Miguel Zenón injects some jazz into his latin roots with his new big band, Identities Are Changeable.
