Is it too much to ask for audience members to just stay in the pit?
Acclaimed hip hop outfit Run The Jewels suffered an unwelcome interruption during their performance at South by Southwest on Monday (US time) after an individual breached the stage and started throwing punches at Killer Mike.
The violent on-stage intrusion — during which fellow band member El-P and several members of the band's entourage rushed to Mike's aid — and its immediate aftermath were captured in footage recorded by several fans in attendance, clearly showing the original incident, the brief fracas in the pit as the altercation spills outward into the crowd, and the onset of a vocal "FUCKBOY!" chant at the behest of Killer Mike, who prefaces his outrage by telling the intruder, "Your mama should be ashamed you were born!"

El-P later addressed the incident on Twitter, thanking the fans in attendance as well as acquaintances who helped keep the situation under control and offering something of an ominous warning for any potential copycats out there: "Don't make the mistake of thinking we are alone."
