With no insincerity, Ellen is doing some good things for Aussie artists
Aussie-bred slacker-rock darling Courtney Barnett is presently even further solidifying her growing reputation abroad as part of South By Southwest's cavalcade of talented drawcards but, as reported on Friday, she spared a bit of time to swing past the studios of The Ellen DeGeneres Show for a live performance overnight (AEST).
Busting out recent single Depreston, taken from her imminent debut full-length Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, Barnett proceeds to deliver a pitch-perfect (uh, if that's the term in this context) demonstration of the sardonic style that has served her so well at home. Check it out below.
Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit is out this Friday. Courtney Barnett will embark on a national tour of Australia once she's all finished up wowing Americans and the like; she kicks off with support from Teeth & Tongue at The Gov, Adelaide, on Friday, 1 May.
