Encompassing a wide-spread of artistic forms, Foxtel has set a March 28 launch date for its new arts channel.

Foxtel Arts is set to begin broadcasting from Saturday 28 March at 10am AEST on Channel 132.

The dedicated channel will host locally-produced shows fronted by familiar faces as well as international productions, both delivering documentaries, interviews and reviews focusing on music, theatre, dance, cabaret, cinema, literature, music, visual art contemporary performance and more.

The first locally commissioned show for Foxtel Arts is Screen, which will premiere Thursday 2 April.  Hosted by Margaret Pomeranz (At The Movies) and TV critic Graeme Blundell, the show will feature a panel each week to breakdown the latest film, TV and online offerings, with guests including The Chaser's Chas Licciardello and more.
