The 'Pedestrian At Best' hitmaker will stop by the same day as First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama
Unstoppable Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett can add another accomplishment to her swiftly growing list — being conscripted to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on which she is set to appear early next week.
The Pedestrian At Best hitmaker is lined up to perform for Ellen on Monday, the same day that (oh, no big deal) Michelle Obama will be in attendance, giving Barnett arguably one of her most high-profile audiences to date.
Of course, Barnett's purpose in the States goes beyond impressing politicians and talk-show hosts — she's there to peddle her impressive wares — and debut full-length, Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit — over a ream of showcase performances at this month's South By Southwest conference and festival in Austin, Texas.
Having recently treated audiences Down Under with a rousing set at Golden Plains, as well as secret gigs in Melbourne and Sydney, it'll be a little while until we see her in action 'round these parts again, but with her album lined up for an Aussie release on Friday, 20 March, you, too, will be able to sit and think of Barnett abroad (or maybe just sit) while listening to her distinctive tones in the comfort of your living room.
