More Everclear More Everclear

Veteran US-bred power-pop outfit Everclear are returning to Australia on a celebratory journey in honour of the 20th anniversary of 1995's breakthrough second album Sparkle & Fade, with the Heroin Girl hit-makers set to knock out a seven-show tour of the country this May.

The band will get started in Adelaide, at Fowler's Live, on Thursday, 7 May, and move through Melbourne (8 May), Brisbane (9 May), Sydney (10 May), Newcastle (12 May), Mona Vale (13 May) and Perth (14 May), with tickets for all shows going on sale from 10am AEDT (9am AEST, 7am WST) this coming Tuesday, 3 March, via Oztix, Moshtix (Adelaide), Ticketek (Sydney) and the Corner Hotel (Melbourne).

The tour will include a full live performance of Sparkle & Fade — which also included the band's well-known single Santa Monica — as well as a selection of hits and fan favourites from throughout their storied career, including from this year's forthcoming ninth LP, Black Is The New Black.

"There is such a buzz of enthusiasm for our new album … it's an unapologetic rock record that I feel combines the best of classic Everclear with contemporary production and what I feel is some of my best songwriting in years," frontman Art Alexakis said in a statement. Hopefully, when played next to the full spread of goods offered on Sparkle & Fade, we'll see this fact demonstrated comprehensively when the band touch down to celebrate their past and highlight their future in a few months' time.
