More Meg Mac More Meg Mac

Ascendant Aussie chanteuse Meg Mac already had something of a big few months ahead as part of the nation's contingent of artists appearing at this year's South By Southwest event in Texas, but the Roll Up Your Sleeves scribe's 2015 just got larger with the news that she has inked a deal with American indie label 300 Entertainment.

The signing will cover the world release — excluding Australia and New Zealand, natch — of last year's eagerly received EP MEGMAC, and sees the rising 24-year-old join an eclectic cadre of acts including Alex Winston, Conrad, Eric Bellinger, Mainland and even fellow Aussies Panama.

The EP will see its Stateside release on 7 April, hot on the heels of her (debut US) appearance at SXSW next month, with both events sure to lift Mac's profile even further, not just at home but abroad as well, as her refined, soulful pop makes its way into more and more people's grateful ears.

"From the first time we at 300 heard Roll Up Your Sleeves, we fell in love with Meg Mac," 300 Entertainment founder Lyor Cohen said in a statement. "She is a true artist of immense talent. It's a privilege and an honour for us to have the opportunity to work with her."

For Mac's part, she certainly seems to be on the same page: "After meeting Lyor Cohen and everyone at 300 in New York, I can't wait to start working with them all. I am excited to get my music out internationally and to start playing shows overseas."

Fear not though, faithful — Mac's not looking at leaving us for good or anything quite so drastic (at least, not yet); she'll be back after SXSW to join the Groovin The Moo touring festival in April and May.
