Midweek figures are in
The impact of a strong tour to Australia is being reflected in the sales figures this week, with midweek figures from the ARIA Charts showing strong performances for bands currently on the road (or in the sky).
Having kicked off last weekend and heading to Brisbane and Sydney this weekend, key Soundwave acts are seeing boosts in this week’s ARIA Albums Chart. Falling In Reverse released their new album Just Like You last week and are heading towards a top ten debut. Marilyn Manson has also been a prominent voice this week and his new album The Pale Emperor is set to jump from 53 well into the top 50 come Saturday’s chart reveal.
The biggest gainer is another rock act on a separate album tour – Foo Fighters. Their latest record Sonic Highways had climbed up to 19 in anticipation of the tour and will push into the top ten this week. Further shows – including last night’s at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium – could result in an even higher result for the rock royalty. The Foo’s compilation record Greatest Hits is also being dragged up from its current position of 40.
An Australian tour is also being kind to Roxette, whose The Roxbox – A Collection Of Roxette’s Greatest Song is surging from 17 this week.

With the aforementioned Falling In Reverse likely to be the top debut, the number one spot will likely be fought out between the current top three who are currently, in this order, the Fifty Shades Of Grey Soundtrack, Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and Taylor Swift’s 1989. Drake plays Sydney’s Allphones Arena tonight before hitting the Future Music Festival’s first stop in Sydney on Saturday, so his boost could come in the second half of the week.
Other debuts will come from country star Jason Aldean’s Old Boots, New Dirt (released in the US last year) which should slot in at the ten-to-15 region. Beyond that there’s The Avener’s The Wanderings Of Avener, Songs Of Anarchy Vol. 4 (Music From Sons Of Anarchy Season 7) and Jose Gonzalez’s Vestiges & Claws inside the top 30 and then 36 Crazyfists’ Time And Trauma, Steve Earle & The Dukes’ Terraplane and Kid Rock’s First Kiss.
Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do shot to the top spot in the ARIA Singles Charts last week and is in the running once again this week. The midweek figures show that Jessie J’s Masterpiece should move from 19 into the top 15 and Iggy Azalea’s Trouble will enter around the top 20.
Expect boosts for Llabrinth’s Jealous, David Guetta featuring Emeli Sande’s What I Did For Love and Nick Jonas’ Jealous while Olly Murs featuring Demi Lovato’s Up, Ariana Grande’s One Last Time and LunchMoney Lewis’ Bills will join Azalea as new entries into the top 50.
