Melbourne-based label Cooking Vinyl Australia have today launched a new rock, metal and heavy imprint with Cancer Bats, Gallows and High Tension signing on with Double Cross.

Founded by Stu Harvey and Leigh Grupetta in 2013, both bring a wealth of experience in the rock industries to the new imprint. The duo have worked with punk and metal bands in previous label roles while Harvey was the host of triple j’s punk show Short Fast Loud for over a decade.

“Leigh and I have talked about a properly-funded rock imprint label ever since we started CVA,” said Harvey today. “There  is so much amazing music being produced, our aim for  Double Cross is to build a diverse roster highlighting great rock and heavy music from all around the world. We’ve definitely got some signings up our sleeve that may come as a surprise.”

Cancer Bats’ Searching For Zero will be the imprint’s first release in March, before Gallows rele4ase Desolation Sounds in April. Melbourne’s High Tension are the first local addition to the roster.
