More Pond More Pond

The new album from local psychedelic-rock mainstays Pond has charted in the UK, cracking the Official Albums Top 100 over the weekend.

Man It Feels Like Space Again landed at 92 in the UK, their highest ever debut in the continent and followed on from the album's debut in this week's ARIA Albums Chart at 15.

The record, released locally through Spinning Top/EMI and via Caroline in the UK, has been met with much acclaim since it dropped over a week ago, with The Music's own Kane Sutton giving it four-and-a-half stars, predicting "the rest of 2015’s releases are going to have a hell of a lot to live up to."

The album, Pond's sixth, is the follow-up to 2013's critically praised Hobo Rocket. The band are currently on tour for St Jerome's Laneway Festival — head to theGuide and The Music App for more.

In other UK Charts news, there was also some steady movement from fellow Aussie Sia, with her 2014 album 1000 Forms Of Fear moving back into the 20 at 15 in what is its 30th week in the chart. Her much-talked about new single Elastic Heart stayed strong at 11 for another week.

Other Aussies also still featuring in the UK Charts are Iggy Azalea, 5 Seconds Of Summer and Vance Joy, who's massive single Riptide has now been in the Singles Top 100 for 65 weeks. It is currently sitting at 58.
