...and locations on six other continents, too
Live Earth co-founders Al Gore and Kevin Wall have announced that they are reviving the pro-environmental concert series eight years after its inception to stage a seven-continent, 100-artist tour under the creative direction of Grammy magnet Pharrell Williams.
Making the announcement at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Gore and Wall revealed that this year's iteration of the socially progressive event would be held on 18 June, though they have not yet sussed out exactly which artists will be joining the line-up.
Although Williams is, as Rolling Stone reports, an alumnus of 2007's Live Earth Rio (which also hosted the likes of Metallica, Kanye West, The Police, the Beastie Boys, Genesis and more), he wouldn't reveal whether he'd be performing at the 2015 event, and remained coy in general about the roster's prospects: "Instead of just having people perform, we literally are going to have humanity harmonise all at once," he said.
However, the co-founders did indicate that each of the concerts would enjoy a run-time in the vicinity of four to six hours, and will be staged in locations around the globe including Paris, New York, Cape Town, Rio de Janerio and Beijing... and Sydney. Finer details of the performances — dates, venues, that sort of thing — are yet to be determined, but we thought you'd like to know the circus was coming to town regardless.

As with the previous iteration, you shouldn't be too downcast if you're not able to secure a ticket to Sydney's live event when such details are released - 2007's Live Earth broke records for online viewership, netting more than 8 million pairs of eyes from the comfort of their living rooms.
