214 people arrested
The ABC news has reported that 214 people were arrested for drug-related offences at yesterday's Field Day festival in Sydney.
Police continued to target dance events across the new year period, claiming to have seized quantities of ecstasy, coke, ice, LSD and cannabis at Field Day.
Police claim it is a record amount of arrests for the event. Chief Inspector Stuart Bell told the ABC, "The drug dog operation this year resulted in the most arrests police have made during the history of the festival, which is extremely concerning and shows that some attendees are not getting the message."
Police allege that half a dozen punters were caught trying to enter the festival site with drugs within the first 15 minutes of the gates opening.
