A new food, wine and music event has been announced for Victoria today, with WA roots and folk troupe The Waifs and Something For Kate frontman Paul Dempsey leading the line-up.

The Peninsula Picnic will take place along the tourism hub Mornington Peninsula on Sunday 29 March, showcasing an array of chefs, restaurants, vineyards and products from some of the country's best in produce, gourmets foods and wines. Some of the culinary experts that will appear throughout the day include Ian Curley of Kirk's Wine Bar and European, Pierre Khodja of Terminus at Flinders Hotel plus food and drinks from Dee's Kitchen and DOC Mornington among others.

As mentioned, The Waifs and Dempsey lead the music component of the day, which will also feature Melbourne folk duo the Pierce Brothers, indie outfit Tinpan Orange and electro-folk muso Hayden Calnin.
