Corner Presents secure their sixth venue

Melbourne based booking agency Corner Presents is now handling bookings for revamped Brisbane venue Woolly Mammoth, giving the company six venues around the country.

The 450-capacity band room in Fortitude Valley has undergone extensive renovations recently, with a larger stage installed, an updated PA, repositioned front of house speakers and improved sight lines.

The venue bolsters Corner Presents’ east coast offering to bands and promoters, given they already book Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club, Corner, 170 Russell and Shebeen and Sydney’s Newtown Social Club.

Corner Presents’ Ben Thompson told theMusic.com.au today, “After meeting the new Woolly Mammoth owners and management we were really impressed with their dedication to offering a quality live music room and a service consistent with the Melbourne and Sydney venues that we work with.”

He added, “It’s a really exciting city for music at the moment with some cool new venues in Fortitude Valley and the West End plus the BIGSOUND conference, which brings a national focus on the cities live scene every year.”

Working towards the ability to book tours nationally, Corner Presents will announce the addition of a Western Australian venue early next year. They are currently looking for an 800-1000 capacity venue to add to their Sydney stocks as well.

The first shows for Woolly Mammoth’s new room have been announced, with Ghostface Killah playing Friday 12 December and Oblivians Saturday 14 March next year.
