"I now realise that I was mistaken in this assumption"
Outspoken musician Billy Bragg has apologised to country-pop superstar Taylor Swift over his recent comments regarding the removal of her music from streaming giant Spotify.
Earlier in the week, Bragg claimed the singer had contradicted herself by doing a deal with Google-owned YouTube and their new streaming service Music Key and asked for Swift to be honest and say, "I’ve sold my soul to Google." The claims were denied by Swift's camp, who said the Shake It Off hit-maker had "absolutely no discussion or agreement of any kind with Google's new music streaming service."
Overnight, Bragg took to his Facebook once again to apologise to Swift, admitting "I was mistaken in this assumption."
"I want to apologise to Taylor Swift for accusing her of selling her soul to Google. I have learned that her music will not now be available on the new YouTube Music Key service, which launched this week. This is despite a number of credible sources stating in the last seven days that it would be – including yesterday’s CMU newsletter.
