Congrats are in order for Bluesfest and Deni Ute Muster

More Bluesfest More Bluesfest

A number of our local music festivals have won big at the 2014 Australian Event Awards overnight.

One of our calendar's biggest festivals, Bluesfest, took home the award for Best Cultural, Arts Or Music Event, while country-rock event Deni Ute Muster won in the category of Best Regional Event. The October festival beat out Bluesfest, as well as Blues On Broadbeach to win the award.

The awards also saw Vivid Sydney, which played host to a number of acclaimed musicians on the Vivid LIVE program, walk away with the gong Best Tourism Event. Company Ash Sounds won in the category of Best Achievement for its work on the Falls Music & Arts Festival and the volunteered-powered Optus RockCorps concert nabbed the Best Charity Or Cause-Related Event gong.

The Australian Event Awards were held last night in Sydney at the Doltone House venue. For more on all the winners, head to event's official website.
