Congratulations are in order

The Falls Music & Arts Festival has revealed this year's batch of stage-bound acts to be sourced from triple j Unearthed's pool of talent as part of its annual competition for a spot on the bill.

Lorne's event will welcome ascendant Melburnian duo GL to the fold; Marion Bay will be graced by Hobart-bred six-piece Violet Swells, who will be wrapping up a tour of their own with their freshly certified festival appearance; and Byron Bay's iteration will spend some time with Wollongong's swiftly rising Hockey Dad.

The Unearthed winners join a line-up already bursting with acclaimed artists, including Alison Wonderland, Alt-J, Asgeir, Vance Joy, Japanese Wallpaper, Thelma Plum, Jagwar Ma, Megan Washington and an eye-popping array of other acts. Despite the festival's recent loss of drawcards Royksopp and Robyn, there's still a tonne of worthy artists on offer, and you can get to know the new class with some choice cuts below.

Falls Festival's three iterations take place over the final days of the year; see our dedicated event page for more information.
