Hear the tracks before they land on triple j
Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have landed next week’s feature album on triple j with their album I’m In Your Mind Fuzz.
Last week’s Album Of The Week for theMusic.com.au, the album is the latest in a string of releases for the tireless garage-psych band – who’ve had a big 2014 on the back of the Carlton Dry Global Music Grant.
As the station kicks off its Aus Music Month initiative next week, a further six local artists will also have tracks added to the playlist. The slow development of Melbourne’s Ali Barter is paying off, with her track Community being plucked from the triple j Unearthed ranks for full rotation next week. Currently without a label, she’s managed by Dave Batty and booked by Artist Voice.
Continuing the Melbourne theme, British India’s new track Wrong Direction will be promoted to full rotation after enjoying spot plays this week. Pilerats/Warner-signed Perth outfit HAMJAM have got the nod for their track Love while Sydney post-rock favourites sleepmakeswaves will receive full play for their track The Great Northern. They’re signed to trailblazing indie label Bird’s Robe Records.

There are spot play additions for Gang Of Youth’s Benevolence Riots – the Sony band’s anticipated album is due out next year – and emerging Sydney indie rock band The Lulu Raes, who this week signed with Select Music for bookings.
