The prodigiously talented foursome set out next month for a 'Run' around the country
Precocious West Australian indie-pop quartet San Cisco are preparing to re-emerge into the national spotlight, announcing the impending release of brand new single Run as well as a string of shows around the country next month to get the ball rolling on support for their forthcoming sophomore full-length.
If you think San Cisco have been a little quiet of late, think again — having spent most of 2012-13 climbing up the ladder of 'it' bands to sell out shows in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo and London, as well as performing on big-ass stages at world-class festivals such as Lollapalooza and Reading, the band have been hunkered down in the studio for much of this year, writing and recording and putting together the tunes that will fill out the track list on their eagerly awaited second album. They've big shoes to step into following the wild success of early hits Awkward and Fred Astaire, but they're equally well placed to fill them capably with their growth and experience since those songs' releases.
The first taste from the impending release, Run, finds San Cisco in typically infectious form, with its hooky chorus and indelible ebullience yours to own from this Friday 24 October. A little over two weeks later, the band will embark on their national Run tour, proudly presented by The Music, getting under way at home in Fremantle with a pair of shows at Mojos on Saturday 15 November (18+), and Sunday 16 November (U18 matinee).

They'll be joined for those shows by compatriots Gunns, who stick around for the entirety of the tour, which follows Fremantle's performances with an all-ages stop in Adelaide on Thursday 20 November. It's there that solo artist Montaigne climbs aboard the San Cisco train to see out the shows, in time to take in spots in Brisbane (18+ and U18 matinee), Byron Bay (18+), Sydney (AA), Newcastle (18+), and wrap up with a double showing in Melbourne (18+ and U18 matinee) on November 29 and 30 at the Corner Hotel.
Tickets for San Cisco's 2014 Run tour will go on sale at 9am local time this Thursday 23 October. See the Gig Guide or check The Music App for a full rundown of dates, venues and ticketing information.
