The White Sky Hub is due to open next month

Melbourne's creative community is set to receive an injection of energy with next month's planned arrival of the White Sky Hub, a new co-operative workspace for like-minded, passionate music-industry professionals.

The space, on Little Oxford Street, in Collingwood, is situated in a converted warehouse the floor above music accounting and business-management White Sky, which lends its name to the new digs. The hub will be accessible 24/7 and decked out with a meeting room, coffee machine, kitchen facilities, printer/scanner, desks, chairs and other assorted accoutrements to ensure its inhabitants adequately equipped for the daily rigours of conducting business in the music industry.

The collaborative White Sky Hub had its genesis in a casual chat between White Sky's Tom Harris and Bolster Music's Anthony and Alex Zaccaria. Said Anthony in a statement: "I've worked in shared office spaces and have found they pool together resources and knowledge of the occupants really well, plus create a great community. It's way better working around like-minded people than on your own."

"There's a few places in Sydney like this but nothing so music-focused in Melbourne," Harris added. "The music industry is about people and relationships; it needed to be done."
