Philadelphia Grand Jury Announce 'Returns In November' Tour

The Philly Jays are back with four special shows next month!

More Philadelphia Grand Jury More Philadelphia Grand Jury

Temporarily defunct indie-punkish trio Philadelphia Grand Jury have announced their plans to return once more to active duty, naming a handful of east-coast dates as part of their fund-raising efforts for their follow-up to 2009's Hope Is For Hopers (tentatively Ulterior Motif).

Having first reunited late last year under the Feelings moniker — the name chosen by frontman Simon "Berkfinger" Berckelman for his solo outfit — to tour that project's Be Kind Unwind full-length, the Philadelphia Grand Jury (affectionately Philly Jays) consequently reassembled under the original banner for a showing at last year's BIGSOUND conference and ensuing end-of-year tour.

The end goal for this tour is a little more concrete, though, with Berkfinger and compatriots Joel "MC Bad Genius" Beechson and Dan "W. Sweat" Williams jetting off to Berkfinger's Berlin-based cave, Golden Retriever Studios, to commence work on the follow-up album. Proceeds from the shows will go directly to the Philly Jays' pockets, and from there to making sure they create and release the best damn album they can to carry on the good times started so many years ago by cuts like The Good News and I Don't Want To Party (Party).

The Philly Jays kick off their Returns In November tour on Saturday, November 8, at Melbourne's Ding Dong Lounge, and carry on to Bondi's Beach Road Hotel (free entry), Newcastle's Cambridge Hotel, and wrap things up in Brisbane, at the Alhambra Lounge, on Friday, November 14.
