Nas To Headline Sugar Mountain Festival

The event is going all out in 2015

Acclaimed hip hop veteran Nas will headline a new-look Sugar Mountain festival next year, with the luminary to perform his iconic Illmatic album in full at the event.

The rapper will be joined by Sonic Youth legend Kim Gordon and her new band Body/Head with Bill Nace, current electro wonders Odesza, US DJ duo Soul Clap, Chicago singer-songwriter Tom Krell, otherwise known as How To Dress Well and many more on what could be the festival’s most impressive line-up to date.

The full line-up comes on the back of the announcement of Ariel Pink for next year's event, while yesterday Melbourne’s Midnight Juggernauts were also confirmed to perform.

As in previous years, there will also be a wide range of visual artists also showcasing their work at the event, including prolific graphic designer Leif Podhajsky, Melbourne contemporary artist Ash Keating and audio-visual expert Robin Fox.

The program alone is not the only exciting news for the festival in 2015, with the event moving from its regular home of the Forum Theatre to the Victorian College Of The Arts, the first time an event of its kind will be held at the venue. Sugar Mountain ’15 will also expand to a five-stage event – three outdoor and two indoor.

We took a little walk-through of the premises recently and took a few snaps — envision the vibe!

Tickets to the festival go on sale next Monday 20 October at 9am and early bird ticket info can be found at the official Sugar Mountain website.

The over-18s event will take place on Saturday 24 January.
