The Milk Factory rises from The Joynt

A new kitchen, bar and live music venue called The Milk Factory will open in South Brisbane this week on the site of The Joynt, which closed earlier this year.

Mal Gill – who owns cafes in the Stones Corner CBD precinct – has partnered with chef Asher Blackford and bar manager Daniel Gregory, who returns to Brisbane after working at Sydney venues like Shady Pines and the Baxter Inn.

Located in a heritage listed site on Montague Road, which was previously the Coronation Hotel and then The Joynt until June this year, they intend to have live music and DJs across six nights of the week. The venue will be booked by Dominic Miller of artist management and booking agency Bluebeard Music, with details of the first live music offerings to be announced.

The venue will open Thursday 2 October with an initial selection of craft beer and menu inspired by Hawaii, Japan, Korea and East China, which will change every three months.
