Coopers Amp Long-list Almost Doubles In Size

And it's still only about half as big as the line-up of nominees in previous years

The $30,000 Coopers Amp Australian album award long-list has grown again, with another nine bands being added to the existing ten nominees for the annual prize — taking the long-list up to about half the number of acts we're accustomed to seeing come prize-giving time.

The new additions join existing nominees such as Ball Park Music, DZ Death Rays, HTRK and Chet Faker, alongside several others, with recognised acts and albums, drawn from across a wide array of genres, including Hilltop HoodsKate Miller-HeidkeBuried In VeronaCaitlin Park, Tom E. Lewis and more.

With 2015's line-up still taking shape, the opportunity exists for award hopefuls to submit their work to be considered for the grand prize — simply email info@australianmusicprize.com.au with the artist/band name, album title and its commercial release date. The work must have been created by an Australian artist, consist of nine or more separate tracks, and clock in with a run time of at least 33 minutes to be in the running.

PPCA will once again fund the Amp (formally the Australian Music Prize), with a panel of 15 judges (including four new recruits) utilising Spotify to do the hard yards of the big decision.
