Introducing Music Australia

The Music Council Of Australia has undergone a transformation, with the body now to be known as Music Australia.

The announcement was made at the organisation's 21st anniversary celebrations last week, with Music Australia also unveiling a new-look website to go with the rebrand.

Chairman Michael Smellie said the decision came from wanting to "strengthen our role as a respected and independent leader in Australian music."

"The name Music Australia embodies our mission to be a powerful and influential voice for advancing all aspects of musical life in Australia."
